RUFUS - your personal running coach

Out of the approximately 20 million people in Germany who call themselves more or less frequent runners, nearly two thirds (68%), run in a way that does not contribute to their fitness and health. About one third run even in such a way that they harm themselves. There is little reason to believe that German runners are unique in this respect. Most likely the ratio between runners who benefit from running and those who do not is similar worldwide.

In close cooperation with Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln, one of the most renowned sports universities in Europe, we have developed an entirely new approach to personal running training: RUFUS

    • RUFUS is an electrically driven, automatically controlled vehicle that
      • drives ahead of the runner like a pace setter in a marathon
      • moves at a velocity, which can be controlled in such a way that the runner’s heart beat reaches a certain rate and remains near that rate.
    • RUFUS is self-propelled and does not have to be pushed or steered, except to drive around a curve or balance out a bump in the road.
    • RUFUS is programmable and can execute training programs that have been developed by physiotherapists or professional trainers. It helps
      • beginners to get accustomed to training (basic endurance),
      • experienced runners to step up their training (improve their endurance and speed), and
      • professionals to prepare for competitions (specific endurance training for individual competition targets such as distances or times).
